W hat A re B lack H oles ? Black holes are some of the strangest and most fascinating objects found in outer space. A black hole is a region of Space-Time exhibiting such strong gravitational effects that nothing—not even particles and electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape from inside it. Albert Einstein first predicted black holes in 1916 with his general theory of relativity .
